We were obliged to write French love letters for St Valentin in class this week & I amused everyone with my letter to my little grey cabbage/cream puff – i.e. Trevor!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Nancy! I have always loved “mon petit chou”. And I didn’t know about many from your list – mon canard and mon poulet are great. And I’ve always wondered – Do the French celebrate Valentine’s Day?

    • Valentine’s Day is not a commercial holiday like in the US. I saw a few French men buying flowers. It is a huge day for tourists in Paris–aiming to have the most romantic and memorable VD ever.

Oh my two favorites are not yet on your list : ma puce – my little “flee” and loulou- is this short form of petit loup- small wolf ?? , but meaning darling. My dog is called loulou when meeting people on the street but my french friend uses it for her kids as well.
