How the French Practice Typing

English typists use: “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs” to warm up (as it contains every letter of the alphabet).

The French use: “Allez porter ce vieux whisky au juge blond qui fume un havane.” Meaning: “Take this old whisky to the blond judge who is smoking a cigar”.

    • One of my students told me about their French keyboard test. That’s where I first heard about it. It’s a little bit sillier than the American version.
