Whereabouts?

map-of-france.jpgLa République Française is just a wee bit smaller than Texas and twice the size of the UK, but with its contrasting and diverse natural environment, I like to think of France as a micro-version of the USA. Bursting with 27 regions including the island of Corsica and les regions d’outre mer (French Guyana, above Brazil, Guadeloupe and Martinique, in the Caribbean, La Reunion and Mayotte, on either side of Madagascar), la Grande Nation has something to offer nearly everyone. Add to this enticing mix the seven countries that border France (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Andorra), and the fabulous network of trains that connect them all. Throw in some water: the North Sea, the English Channel, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean, et voilà, you’ve got the makings of one of the most alluring countries in the world. Stay posted to learn about some of my favorites.

    • Thanks for looking in on me. France is always a good idea! I hope you are able to visit often. It is breaking my heart to have to leave her. 😦
