Chinon-Candes-Saint-Martin-Saumur-Fountevraud-l’Abbaye

We’ve had an impossibly slow internet connection on Wednesday and Thursday, and now I’m completely locked out from laptop blogging. Boo! (Working on a solution…) Here are a few pictures of Thursday’s journey from Chinon to Saumur. We only rode 48 km, but it felt like 84. The saddle sores are still settling, but we are happily transitioning into the rhythm of the cycling lifestyle. 1. Hey, at least il fait beau. The photos tell a whole tale by themselves, next post please include a shot of a saddle sore derrière. Isn’t Saumur rather hilly (or is my memory up the creek?). Keep pedalling. Love Nicola x

    • Ha! You definitely don’t want to see those. Thank goodness for “butt butter”. Yes. The weather has been absolutely parfait. We’ve been very lucky.

Chinon and Saumur were hilly. En fait there have actually been a few more hills along this journey than I expected. See you very soon. x

  2. Great pictures and it looks as if you’re blessed with good weather. And it looks flat which has to be a big plus point.

    • Yes, we have been very lucky with the perfect blue-sky, but cool enough weather. Things are heating up for the next week of our journey though.

    • Salut mon amie! The trip is going well. We have the day off in Ancenis and plan to go canoeing on the Loire. It will be a nice break for our legs, and a good workout for our arms. Good luck with all the cooking and enjoy your family. I just posted some pictures of a lovely resto in Fontevraud Abbeye. Maybe you can whip up something like that?! xo
