No. 302: Grilled Summertime Vegetables

It is summertime in France and the open markets are bursting with color and flavor. Since barbecuing is technically illegal in Paris, given the fire hazard and all….we have to head to our local restos to get a plate of perfectly grilled vegetables. But nothing tastes better on a long summer’s night. Don’t you agree?

It’s my favorite summertime meal. Just add a nice hunk of whole grain bread, and you are set. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting.

Yum…isn’t that a slice of chevre I see lurking amidst the veggies? The French have a way of livening up even healthy food with a good slab of cheese!

Love goat’s cheese, love veggies, love the look of that
unfortunately am living with unreconstructed carnivore who would only consider a meat (or fish) free plate as a starter!

Could this lifestyle be tenuously linked to his ( currently managed after years of neglect) cholesterol levels? hmm,……

This is one of my favorite meals. I could be a vegetarian pretty easily if I lived in a warm climate year round. I love love love eating from the summer garden. Sadly, I have high cholesterol and I eat pretty darn healthily, so you can’t win. Sometimes it is genetic. 🙂

        Apparently so
Never mind, am working on our already pretty healthy diet & pushing the veg- will be easier when we get to France next week for an extended break as we will be surrounded by tempting lush local produce!
