No. 273: Spectacular Lightning
We have had two crazy storm here in Paris over the last few nights. I was too chicken to go outside and photograph them, and the photos I took from my windows did not do the storms justice, so I grabbed this gorgeous picture off of google images (source: BERTRAND KULIK/CATERS).
I am a sucker for thunder and lightning storms. I love them and I fear them, and these past two nights have been spectacular–with snarling roars and jagged streaks striking the tip of my beloved tower.

Good that you stayed indoors, it’s actually scary..have seen lines of street light getting struck and blowing by lightning here in Delhi / India on 30th May. All said this actually is a very good captured picture 🙂
I was really tempted to go outside last night, when the second round of storms swept through, but came to my senses! I’d love to take a picture like this someday though. Thank you for the comment.
looking forward to that click 🙂
It was indeed pretty wild though I don’t think it was as bad last night as the night before or at least I didn’t hear it as much…must have been sleeping better. On the news, I was shocked by the damages the storm did around Paris. (Suzanne)
My daughter got caught in the storm walking home sans parapluie. She was soaked to the bone and a little frazzled. I was surprised by the news of the damage this morning too. What I’ve seen of the 7e so far doesn’t look too bad, just a lot of small branches, leaves and flower pots scattered about.
Better to be safe than sorry, as the saying goes… Great photo!
Je suis d’accord, but I’d love to take a picture like this one some day. 🙂
I remember camping in a steep sided valley in Morocco, we had simultaneous thunder, lightening and torrential rain. Our guide was worried that the storm would bring down boulders, I was more worried that I urgently needed to pee! The following morning we had to wait for about three hours for the river to go down enough to get our mules across. Now THAT was a storm!
Wow. Sounds like quite a storm. Did you take any pictures?
Sadly not.
