No. 356: à faire une pause
The packers were more than two hours early this morning, and the day quickly spun out of control. I’ve been chasing my tail since 6 AM, so all I have for you this evening are some happy pictures of a lovely day we recently spent at Vaux le Vicomte–a peaceful alternative to Versailles–and a LINK for you to see what makes it so interesting and special. Every Saturday night until October 4, more than 2,000 candles light up this stunning château and the magnificent gardens, and at 23h a magical fireworks display fills the sky and lights up the estate with a shower of gold and silver. It is also gorgeous in the sunshine.

Wow, this looks like a must-visit. I hope the packing is going well.
Looks wonderful – I love the idea of the candles and fireworks at night it must be so beautiful! Love the quote I can quite imagine how your head must be spinning! I also have the “Living Language” desk calendars, one in French and the other in German – they’re a great idea I like my daily language “quotes”. Hope you manage to get everything packed and sorted in the next week, best wishes 🙂
Vaux le Vicomte is another “hidden gem” in France. I know everyone “has” to see Versailles, but it is much more pleasant and (almost) equally as lavish as the Sun King’s digs with a super interesting history. By night it is spectacular. Thanks for your kind words about the move, I still have a long to-do list, but it will get done. Bon week-end.
Very interesting – I’ll note Vaux le Vicomte down for the future. I went to Versailles years ago but I love slightly less well known places and in many cases prefer them especially if less people know about them. Thank you very much for following my blog too – I really appreciate the support! I am very much enjoying blogging and connecting with fellow bloggers. I still have to read some of your past articles so am hoping you keep your blog going even if it changes direction once you’ve moved! I hope you’ve got through your weekend to do list and have had a bit of relaxation time though I know that’s not really possible when you’re moving! Good luck with everything this week!
Thanks so much …. still 40 things on the to-do list…sigh. IT will get done, ’cause it has too…stay tuned for the adventures of our final week.
Bonne courage and stay sane
Looking forward to future blogsx
